Measure Your Bra Size

Research shows that 80% of all women are wearing a bra that is either too small or too big for their bodies. One of the biggest mistakes that women make when buying a bra is getting one that has the wrong band size that is too large or a sup size that is too small. It is no wonder that women hate wearing one. With a bit of help we can show you how to properly measure yourself for a bra that fits perfectly all around.

First you will need to measure your bra size. Wear your bra and wrap a tape measure around your body and beneath your breasts. This is the ‘band’ measurement. Be sure that the tap measure is horizontal and snug. Round the measurement to the nearest number. If your band size is thirty-five inches than you will be a thirty-six.

The next thing you need to know is your bust size. Measure around the fullest part of your bust loosely. If you are too snug you will have an inaccurate measurement. If your bra is not fitted close enough to you than bend forward so that your back is parallel to the floor. Measure around the chest and over the nipples. Round the number to the nearest whole number.

To know your cup size simple subtract the band size from the bust measurement. Below is a list of the measurements that correspond to the various sizes.

Go to the store and use the information you have to try on different ones. Try it on and make sure your fingers can run around the inside of the band. Also make sure that you are not bulging out of the cup or that there is no excess space.

  • 0 to 1.5 inches = A
  • 1.5 to 2.5 = B
  • 2.5 to 3.5 = C
  • 3.5 to 4.5 = D
  • 4.5 to 5.5 = DD/E
